🎓 Free Microsoft Office for Personal Use

Available to all current St. Cloud State University faculty, staff, and students

📝 Overview

Thanks to SCSU’s licensing agreement with Microsoft, all current faculty, staff, and students can download and use Microsoft Office for free on personal devices.
You may install Office on up to:

• 5 PCs or Macs
• 5 tablets
• 5 smartphones

⚠️ Do NOT install this version on University-owned equipment.
For University devices, contact your technician or HuskyTech.

💻 Installation Instructions

Step 1: Go to the Microsoft Office Portal

Visit: https://login.microsoftonline.com

Step 2: Log In

Use your Office 365 login and StarID password:

• Employees/Emeriti: starID@minnstate.edu
• Students: starID@go.minnstate.edu

Step 3: Download Office

• Click the Install Office button
• Select Office 365 apps
• Go to your browser’s Downloads tab and click the Office installer to begin

Step 4: Install

Follow the on-screen instructions. Typically, you’ll just need to click Next or Install and the process will complete automatically.

Step 5: Activation (Macs & Mobile Devices)

If prompted, choose:
“Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription”
Then enter your StarID email and StarID password again.

🔧 Manage Your Devices

To manage installations:

• Click Install Office again
• Select Other install options
• Remove any devices you no longer use Office on
