Difference between Drop and Withdraw

Difference between a drop and a withdrawal

Question

What is the difference between dropping a class and withdrawing from a class?

Answer

If a class is dropped during the free drop period, the class will not display on the academic record (transcript) and the student will not be responsible for payment.

Withdrawing from a class(es) after the drop deadline will cause a grade of "W" to appear on the academic record (transcript) and the student will be held financially responsible for the course(s). The grade point average is not affected by a withdrawal(s) but a withdrawal(s) may affect the student's satisfactory academic progress.
