Minnesota State CRM RFP and NextGen Companion Project Survey Information

Summary

Information regarding two surveys and related Q&A sessions for Minnesota State CRM RFP and NextGen Companion Projects

Body

From the Minnesota State NextGen Project team:

You are invited to participate in two surveys from the Minnesota State System Office.  These surveys are related to NextGen Student companion projects, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

What Are Companion Projects?

Companion projects are third-party or custom business solutions that fulfill a business need left open by the current student information system (ISRS).  Some examples of these may include software like Maxient or Handshake, forms like new student intake, and outsourced services used in collections.  Workday functionality may replace some business solutions in the future, but it will not replace them all.

In circumstances where we will continue use of a third-party business solution, the Workday transition provides us an opportunity to consider becoming more “as common as possible.”  This could mean our moving from six different software solutions used for a single business purpose to one single solution at all campuses.  But where might we focus our efforts to help us best understand which companion projects deserve this consideration?

This is the purpose the Companion Project Alignment Survey and the accompanying CRM RFP Survey.  The results from surveys like these inform companion project conversations and help ensure we as a system can engage in more inclusive software decision-making for our collective future.
