Overview:
This article outlines the Annual Curriculum Cycle and Deadlines for submitting curriculum changes for Fall semester implementation at St. Cloud State University. All submissions must be made through Coursedog, the official curriculum approval system.
Curriculum Submission Deadlines
No Curriculum Proposals Can Be Made – May 2026 to August 2026
4-letter/4-Number Course Schema Change
No curriculum proposals can be created due to changes being made during the summer to update courses to the MinnState required 4-letter/4-number course schema format for Workday.
Curriculum Changes for Fall 2027 – Due by November 2nd
If deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, curriculum changes will be accepted on the next business day. Curriculum proposals for Fall 2027 are accepted January 2026 to April 2026, September 2026 to November 2, 2026. Proposals submitted after November 2nd will be accepted for Fall 2028.
Includes revisions such as:
- New programs or courses
- Changes to program title, credits, CIP code, delivery mode, or campus location
- Creation, elimination, or major changes to concentrations
- Significant changes to program requirements
- Course renumbering or prefix changes
- Simultaneous/articulated program and course changes
- Liberal Education Program (LEP) goal changes
- 5 Year accelerated bachelor’s to master’s programs
- Double/second majors or dual degree graduate programs
- Accreditation-required program changes
- Simple program changes without new courses
- Changes to courses that do not simultaneously require a program change
- Dropping courses from inventory

Important Notes:
- Changes to course prefix or number cannot be implemented during an active registration cycle, which means there are only two short windows for changes to occur which are in January and September. Prefix changes must be submitted by November 2nd for implementation for the following fall semester.
- Early submissions are strongly encouraged. Submissions after the deadline will be processed the following Fall year.
