Summer Financial Aid

Introduction

Summer financial aid

Question

How do I apply for financial aid for the summer?

Answer

Your eligibility for summer financial aid is based on the current year's FAFSA results. If you have already filed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for fall/spring semesters in the current year, you do not need to complete a new FAFSA for summer.

Example: You filed the 2020-2021 FAFSA; the results from your FAFSA will be used to determine eligibility for Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021.

In mid-March, a summer award notification will be posted to your e-Services after you have registered for summer courses. NOTE: If you borrow a federal Direct Loan for the academic year (fall or spring) after your summer award notification has been prepared and posted to your e-Services, your summer federal Direct Loan eligibility will be reduced.
