Are the counseling center providers doctors or students?

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) maintains a staff of Mental Health Professionals who hold master's or doctoral degrees and provide full-time counseling or case management in our center. Our providers maintain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Psychology, Board of Social Work, or Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. At times, our center supervises clinical trainees who are counselors in training at the master’s and doctoral level. If you are assigned to a student provider who is under supervision, you'll be informed and able to have a conversation about this.
