HuskyPrint Multifunction Printer Locations

Introduction

The University has modernized its printing environment by replacing its aging, non-standardized printer fleet with a consolidated fleet of new multifunction printers (MFPs). By leveraging secure print release, the University has reduced the number of devices on campus, improved efficiency, and lowered operating costs. At the same time, students, faculty, and staff now have broader access to enhanced printing, scanning, and copying capabilities, including color and 11"x17" printing.

The new fleet includes a combination of shared-use printers, which are available to all SCSU students, faculty, and staff, and restricted-access printers, which are located within specific departments or work areas to support specialized business needs. Some departmental devices may not be accessible for general use because they support specialized business, operational, or confidentiality requirements. Examples include Human Resources offices, clinical settings, and high-volume printing environments, among others.

A key feature of the new print environment is Secure Print Release. Rather than sending documents directly to a specific printer, users submit print jobs to a secure print queue and release them at any compatible device using a passcode or mobile app. This approach helps reduce printing costs, minimize unclaimed or misprinted documents, improve information security, increase operational efficiency, and provide greater flexibility in where users print.

All devices in the new fleet include the following standard features:

  • Color and monochrome (black-and-white) printing, scanning, and copying
  • Single-sided and duplex (two-sided) printing, scanning, and copying
  • Scan-to-email functionality
  • Secure Print Release with both mobile app and passcode options
  • Support for letter, legal, and tabloid paper sizes
  • Sorting and collating capabilities
  • Envelope printing
  • Paper capacity of 1,000+ sheets

Some devices include additional functionality, such as stapling, hole-punching, and/or fax. Some devices will soon include an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) unit to convert scanned documents into searchable PDFs and editable text files, improving document indexing, retrieval, and digital workflow efficiency.

The printer listings below identify available devices, locations, and capabilities to help users find the most appropriate printing resources for their needs.

Shared-Use Printers
The printers listed below are designated as shared-use devices and are located in areas that are generally accessible to the SCSU community. These printers are available for use by all students, faculty, and staff and are intended to provide convenient access to printing services across campus. Some shared-use printers may be located within a department/office and may follow those office hours versus building hours.
