Introduction
Most print customization options are available within the Print settings of the application you are printing from (such as Microsoft Word). While layouts and wording may vary across applications, printers, and operating systems, the key options are generally similar.

Access Printer Settings

Select File → Print (or press Ctrl + P).
- Choose your printer.
- Click Printer Properties or Preferences to access advanced settings.

Common Print Options
Basic Settings
Within Printer Properties, you can typically:
- Select Print in Color or Grayscale
- Adjust the number of copies
- Choose paper orientation (Portrait or Landscape)
Finishing Options
In the Finishing or Finishing Options section, you may be able to:
- Enable Stapling (single or multiple positions depending on the device)

- Select Hole Punching
- Configure output order (collated vs. uncollated)
Note: These options depend on your specific printer hardware.
Media & Quality Settings
Use the Media & Quality section to:
- Select paper type (e.g., Letterhead, Plain Paper, Transparencies)
- Adjust print quality (Draft, Normal, Best)
- Optimize output for specific media
Special Sizes and Paper Types
For envelopes, custom sizes, or non-standard media:
- Return to the main Print Preview screen

- Locate paper size or scaling options

- Select or define the correct paper size before printing
Important Notes
- Settings and layout will vary by printer model (e.g., HP vs. others).
- Non-Microsoft Word applications may have different menus or terminology.
- Some features (like stapling or hole punching) require a printer with finishing hardware installed.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If an option (like stapling) isn’t available, confirm:
- The correct printer is selected
- The printer supports that feature
- Try updating or reinstalling the printer driver if options seem missing
- Check with IT if printing policies restrict certain features
