Decommissioning of the Former Printer Fleet

Introduction

The University has modernized its printing environment by replacing its aging, non-standardized printer fleet with a consolidated fleet of new multifunction printers (MFPs). This article is related to the decommissioning of the former printer fleet.

Answer

Most, if not all, current networked printers will be removed as part of this transition. Many devices have already been decommissioned and hauled away, and our team is working diligently to collect the remainder of the fleet from across campus. It may take some time to reach every retired device. If you have a printer that needs to be prioritized for removal, please submit a service ticket so we can review and address the request as quickly as possible.

If you have a USB-connected or desktop printer, please contact your technician to arrange for the device to be picked up. If you need to retain a USB-connected printer due to specialized media, equipment, or technical requirements, please complete the USB Exception Request form.
