Question

How do I find an internship?

Answer

Getting Started with Internships

  1. Set up your Handshake profile. Upload your résumé, search for internships, and connect with employers. Once you’ve secured an internship, be sure to report it as an Experience in Handshake.

  2. Attend career events. Job and internship fairs are designed to connect SCSU students with employers who want to hire them. Networking events are also a great way to meet employers and pick up tips on internships, résumés, and interviewing.

  3. Use Career Center resources. Whether your internship is for credit or not, you’ll find helpful tips and quick videos on the Career Center website.

  4. Get personalized support. After speaking with your faculty internship advisor, you can also schedule an appointment with Career Center staff if you still have questions.
