Financial Aid to Pay for Books

Introduction

At the start of the semester, you may be able to charge books purchased at the Centennial Hall Husky Bookstore or Husky Books Express. You may charge up to $1,000 per semester in books and course materials.

Question

Can I use my financial aid to pay for books and other supplies?

Answer

We encourage you to use savings or earnings from your job to pay for books whenever possible.

You may be eligible to charge your book costs to your St. Cloud State University (SCSU) student account. You do not have to be a financial aid recipient. To use this benefit:

  • you cannot have any holds on your student account at the time of the purchase, and
  • eligible course materials must be purchased at the SCSU Centennial Hall Husky Bookstore.

Questions? Contact the SCSU Cashier’s Office or 320-308-4012.  Do not contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions about charging books or eligible course materials.
