Parent Information

Question

Why can't you give me information about my son's or daughter's account?

Answer

The federal Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act prohibit the release of private information about a student's academic or financial status without the signed, written authorization of the student. The law does not consider age or financial support, so even if the student is under the age of 18 and/or receiving financial support from the parent or guardian, the privacy laws still apply.

See Data Privacy and Data Practice for more information.
