Graduate assistants are required to be enrolled as full-time graduate students, 8 or more 500/600 level credits or 6 or more 700/800 level credits for fall and spring semester. Full-time enrollment is required for both part-time and full-time graduate assistants. Summer graduate assistants are expected to be enrolled in 1-6 graduate credits during the summer term.
The only exception to this requirement is that graduate assistants may petition the School of Graduate Studies to hold a graduate assistantship with 3 or more graduate credits of registration in their final semester. Graduate assistants seeking this exception must file a Graduate Assistant Petition found on the School of Graduate Studies Forms page.
