Signage

Introduction

St. Cloud State University has established a design standard for interior and exterior signage. These “wayfinding” signs are used to provide directional information and building/room identification. Signs across campus are being systematically updated to comply with the design standards and as resources permit.

Instructions

All new signs must be approved by Facilities Management prior to fabrication. Some signage changes may also require consultation with University Communication for compliance with branding standards.

Requesting Signage Changes:

Design Standard Signs:

  1. Change in office occupant name: New inserts can be ordered through Printing Services and installed by Facilities.

  1. For all other signage changes: Submit a Facilities work request ticket.  If new sign holders or inserts need to be ordered, there may be a cost to the requesting department.

Non-Standard Signs:

  1. Change in office occupant name: In some of the older signs in various buildings, office managers may create new occupant name inserts. New inserts should use the same font, size, and naming convention as other signs in that building.  Usually, these inserts can be slid into the sign holder.  If you have questions about a specific sign type or holder, please contact Facilities Management.

  1. For all other signage changes: Submit a Facilities work request ticket to ask for a signage consultation.
