HuskyPrint for Students: Using Pharos Print Desktop App on Student Lab Computer

Introduction

Student lab computers are equipped with the Pharos Print desktop application, which allows students to send documents to the HuskyPrint Secure print queue. Once submitted, documents can be released from any HuskyPrint printer on campus.

Instructions

To use Pharos Print, follow these steps:

  • Log in to a Lab Computer

    • Use your StarID credentials to log into an on-campus lab computer.
  • Open the Pharos Print App

    • Windows: Use the search bar (bottom-left corner) to search for and open Pharos Print.
    • Mac: Click the small printer icon in the top menu bar, then select “Show Main Window.”
  • Sign In to Pharos Print

    • A welcome screen will appear. Click “Login to continue.”
    • You’ll be redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page.
    • Enter your credentials in the format: StarID@go.minnstate.edu.
    • Complete the multi-factor authentication (MFA) process.
    • Once you see the “Authenticated successfully” message in your browser, you may close the browser window.
  • Send Your Document to Print

    • Open the document or page you want to print.
    • Select “Print” from the application menu.
    • Choose “HuskyPrint Secure” as the printer.
    • Adjust any printing preferences (e.g., color, page range, formatting).
    • Click “Print” or “Submit” to send the job to the queue.
  • Release Your Print Job

    • Go to any HuskyPrint printer on campus.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to log in and release your print job.
