Accessing AutoCAD as a Student

Introduction

Students can get free access to AutoCAD to install on their personal device through Autodesk’s Education Program. This license is valid for 1 year and can be renewed as long as you remain eligible as a student.

Instructions

How to Get AutoCAD on a Personal Device

  1. Go to the Autodesk Education Access page:
    https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview
    (Search for Autodesk Student Access to Education Downloads if the URL changes.)

  2. Sign in or create an Autodesk account using your student email.

  3. Verify your student status by providing:

    • Your school name
    • Your program or course
    • Proof of enrollment (if asked)

  4. Once verified, you can download AutoCAD directly for Windows or Mac.

  5. Install the software and sign into your Autodesk account to activate your free student license.

Notes

  • The license renews annually as long as you remain a student.
  • Your professor may require specific versions of AutoCAD—check your syllabus or course instructions.
