Introduction
If you intend to move your site to another WordPress instance you'll want to complete both parts. Even if you're not going to move to a different WordPress instance, you may want to back up everything as an archive.
Note: exporting your site may require two steps if you’ve also uploaded any media ( images, documents). No media is included in the initial export – see the section on media export.
Instructions
- Sign in: https://blog.stcloudstate.edu/wp-login.php
- Navigate to your site’s dashboard:

- Choose Tools | Export:

- Ensure ‘All content’ is selected and scroll to the bottom to choose ‘Download Export File’:

- Save the download file in a convenient location for future use.
- Repeat for each site you have.
If you also wish to export your media library:
- From your site’s dashboard ( step 2 above ), choose Plugins:

- Search or scroll to find ‘Bulk Media Downloader’:

- Select ‘Activate’.
- Navigate to the Media library:

- Select the list view icon:

- It’s the first icon in the toolbar.
- Select the ‘select all’ checkbox at the top left of the media list:***

- Use the bulk actions dropdown to choose ‘download items’:

- Select ‘Apply’:

- Save the download .zip file in a convenient location for future use.
- Repeat for each page of that site’s media.
- Repeat for each site as needed.
***Notes on step 6: if your site contains many items, you may need to perform steps 6 through 9 multiple times to obtain all media items. You can minimize this by using the ‘screen options’ tool at the top right of the screen to choose a page size larger than 20 items.
