StarID Account Lockout – Troubleshooting Guide

Overview

Your StarID account will automatically lock after three or more incorrect login attempts. If this happens, and you believe you’ve entered the wrong password, simply wait 20 minutes—your account will unlock on its own.

Why Does My Account Keep Locking?

Frequent lockouts are often caused by devices or applications storing outdated credentials. These devices may repeatedly attempt to log in using your old password, triggering a lockout.

Common culprits include:

  • Windows Credential Manager
  • Mobile devices (phones, tablets)
  • Email apps or Wi-Fi settings using saved HuskyNet credentials

How to Fix It

  1. Update or remove saved credentials on all your devices:

    • On Windows: Open Credential Manager and remove any saved StarID entries.
    • On mobile devices: Update your Wi-Fi and email app passwords to match your current HuskyNet password.
  2. Restart your devices after updating credentials to ensure changes take effect.
