HuskyTech Transition in Fall 2023/Spring 2024

Introduction

HuskyTech is undergoing changes to create a modern environment that will support a bold and innovative University by nurturing innovation, collaboration and technological advancement.

HuskyTech launched in early 2013 to provide our campus community with a streamlined, “one-stop shop,” for technology support, service and sales. Since then, our University has seen more than a decade of technological advancement, significant retail competition, and increased remote teaching, learning and working due to the pandemic. It’s time to modernize our space and services to meet the needs of Huskies today and in the future.

Through the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters, foundational steps will be taken to transition HuskyTech's physical location (Miller Center 102) from a walk-in support and retail environment into an "innovation hub" where the campus community will be encouraged to explore emerging technologies, engage in interdisciplinary projects, foster entrepreneurship and enhance technical skills. In support of this transition, HuskyTech will emphasize our online technology support options and will discontinue technology sales for personal use.

As a long-term strategy, Information Technology Services (ITS) looks forward to partnering with areas across campus to showcase modern solutions and innovative technologies, host inspirational and interactive sessions, and offer hands-on experiences to the campus community.

Information Technology Services/HuskyTech will continue to share information with our campus community throughout the transition. In the meantime, we’ll keep this Knowledge Base current with information and answers to frequently asked questions. You can also reach out to its@stcloudstate.edu for further questions.
