Overview:
This article outlines the Annual Curriculum Cycle and Deadlines for submitting curriculum changes for Fall semester implementation at St. Cloud State University. All submissions must be made through Coursedog, the official curriculum approval system.
Curriculum Submission Deadlines
Major Curriculum Changes – Due by November 1st
Includes substantial revisions such as:
- New programs or courses
- Changes to program title, credits, CIP code, delivery mode, or campus location
- Creation, elimination, or major changes to concentrations
- Significant changes to program requirements
- Course renumbering or prefix changes
- Simultaneous/articulated program and course changes
- Liberal Education Program (LEP) goal changes
- 4+1 bachelor’s to master’s programs
- Double/second majors or dual degree graduate programs
- Accreditation-required program changes
Minor Curriculum Changes – Due by December 1st
Includes minor revisions such as:
- Simple program changes without new courses
- Changes to courses that do not simultaneously require a program change
- Dropping courses from inventory

Important Notes:
- Changes to course prefix or number cannot be implemented during an active registration cycle, which means there are only two short windows for changes to occur which are in January and September. Prefix changes must be submitted by November 1st for implementation for the following fall semester.
- Early submissions are strongly encouraged. Submissions after the deadline will be processed but are not guaranteed for Fall implementation.
