Introduction
IT Services recommends that you do not sync files to your local device. Instead, work directly in the cloud using Microsoft Teams and OneDrive. This ensures:
- Real-time collaboration
- Automatic saving
- Access to the latest version of your files

How to Sync
- Visit the Microsoft Knowledge Base for instructions on setting up OneDrive based on your device (Windows or Mac) by following this link.
Check if OneDrive is Installed
- On your device, open your applications folder to check if the OneDrive app is installed
- If it’s not installed, you can download it from:
- Windows: Open the Software Center
- Mac: Open Self-Service
Install and Set Up OneDrive
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You will always use your Work or School account to log in:
- Employee/Emeritus: Use your StarID in this format
StarID@minnstate.edu and your StarID password.
- Student: Use your StarID in this format
StarID@go.minnstate.edu and your StarID password.
Access Your OneDrive Files
- After syncing, your OneDrive files will be available in File Explorer on Windows or Finder on a Mac.
