About Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (Copilot Chat)

Microsoft 365 Copilot accessed through Minnesota State credentials is one of a few services leveraging a contractual agreement that ensures adherence to data security and data sharing protocols allowing non-public data to be used with the service. It has capabilities similar to ChatGPT, including summarization, data analysis, content creation, and drafting communications.

Employees (StarID@minnstate.edu) and Students (StarID@go.minnstate.edu) access Copilot Chat at https://m365.cloud.microsoft/chat

Features

Copilot Chat can be used to:

  • Summarization: summarize and paraphrase lengthy articles, papers, or reports
  • Data analysis: explain complex analytical concepts and interpret results
  • Marketing: identify potential markets, generate leads, and create targeted campaigns
  • Content creation: generate topics, brainstorm, and create content like product descriptions, ad copy, and social media posts
  • Draft Communications: draft email communications, memos, or agenda
