Pharos Cloud Pilot Participants Only: Setting Up Mobile Application to Release Prints

Introduction

St. Cloud State's ITS department is piloting a new secure printing service for faculty and staff (Pharos Cloud). A limited number of departments are involved in the pilot (ITS, Career Center, Math, Stats). If you are involved in this pilot, please use the instructions below to setup the desktop application to begin sending print jobs to the printer from your computer. 

Faculty and staff who are participating in the pilot and are having issues printing should contact their department's primary technician. Any other questions about this pilot should be sent to informationtechnology@stcloudstate.edu

Instructions

Instructions for Android devices:

1. On your Android device, navigate to the Google Play store

2. Find the Pharos Secure Release app (QR code and logo below) and select "Install"

Note: You may see a Pharos Print app appear in Google Play which is not the correct app, be sure to get the Pharos Secure Release app

3. Once downloaded, click on the app and enter in your StarID@minnstate.edu username (not your SCSU email address) and select "Sign In"

4. You will be brought to a Microsoft 365 login page where you will need to enter in your StarID@minnstate.edu credentials (not your SCSU email address) and navigate the multi-factor authentication process

5. Once you complete the above step, the app will register your device, automatically bring you to the app homepage and is ready for use

Instructions for iPhone devices:

1. On your iPhone, navigate to the App Store

2. Find the Pharos Secure Release app (QR code and logo below) and select "Get"

3. Once downloaded, click on the app and enter in your StarID@minnstate.edu username (not your SCSU email address) and select "Sign In"
