This guide explains how students and staff can log into Zoom using their StarID credentials, with instructions for web, desktop, and mobile access. It also includes troubleshooting tips and links to support resources.

Getting Started

To access Zoom, use your StarID credentials:

  • Students:
    Sign in with StarID@go.minnstate.edu and your StarID password
  • Faculty/Staff:
    Sign in with StarID@minnstate.edu and your StarID password

Web Access

  • Go to https://minnstate.zoom.us and click Sign in with SSOsign in options screen with sign in with sso circled
  • When prompted for your company domain, enter: minnstate

Desktop & Mobile Access

  • University-owned computers:
    Install Zoom via:
    • Windows: Software Center
    • Mac: Self Service
  • Mobile App:
    • Choose SSO (Single Sign-On)
    • Enter minnstate as the company domaindomain screen showing sign in with sso
    • Tap Continue and log in with your StarID credentialsstarID login screen

Important Notes for Students

  • You must first authenticate your Zoom account at https://minnstate.zoom.us or via the SCSU website (search “Zoom”) before joining Zoom classes in D2L.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Prefer web-based login at https://minnstate.zoom.us
  • If you encounter issues:
    • Try a different browser (e.g., Edge instead of Chrome)
    • Use Incognito Mode or Private Browsing
  • To prevent Zoom bombing:
    • Go to the Security tab in your Zoom settings
    • Enable recommended security options (e.g., waiting room, passcode)
      • secutity window showing passcode, waiting room and require authentication to join
