Updating Applications through SCSU Self Service for Mac

 

Introduction

 

SCSU Self Service is available for deploying software to state-owned Macs. SCSU Self Service allows customers to perform ITS approved updates or install ITS approved software on their schedule without intervention of a campus or college technician. Customers do not need administrator rights on the computer in order to install software using SCSU Self Service

Instructions

 

To open SCSU Self Service on a state owned Mac

  1. Open Finder
  2. Select Applications
  3. Double click on SCSU Self Service

Note: If SCSU Self Service is not installed on your state-owned Mac, please contact your campus or college technician.

Once SCSU Self Service opens, you will see a Bookmarks button on the left side which will give you access to various SCSU or MAC related pages.

Options below bookmark shows all the categories of software that are available. The categories are divided into sections for easier viewing. These categories can be drilled into and allow the user to install software they would like to install. 

  • You can click on the application name to read more information about it
  • You can click the Install button to start the installation of the software immediately.

For your convenience, faculty and staff can easily download and manage many software applications through a software management system already available on your University-owned computers (Software Center for Windows, and SCSU Self-Service for Mac computers).
