SCSU-Remote VPN Setup for Mac

Introduction

St. Cloud State offers faculty and staff members access to campus files and resources while off-campus through various methods. VPN access is one of the methods available to faculty and staff who have a specific need for a secured connection to their work environment. 

Through this VPN service, you will be able to access internal St. Cloud State services. 

(Due to security concerns, you will not be able to access web sites that are outside the St. Cloud State domain.)

Instructions

To install VPN on your MAC go to Self Service Support (for self service support please visit Updating Applications through SCSU Self Service for Mac)

  1. If you have been approved VPN client will be located under the "Utility" tab in Self-Service
  • If you do not see VPN you have not been granted permissions- see VPN Request form
  1. Search for  Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client or go to "Utility" folder
     
  2. Click the Install button
  • The system may ask you to approve security changes in System Preferences (this must be done)
  1. Launch the application
  2. Under VPN,type in: scsuremote.stcloudstate.edu
  3. Click Connect
  4. Select Group- SSLanyconnect
  5. ​​​​​The system will ask for your starID and password credentials
    1. it may ask you for your office365 credentials and then you will need to use your mfa token to finish logging in
  6. You will now be connected to St. Cloud State
