This article describes the notifications and instructions for viewing an SMS text message received on an employee's Zoom Phone on an SCSU-issued work computer. For instructions on receiving SMS text messages using another device/method, you can visit Zoom's online article, "Using SMS"

 

Instructions

NOTE: To receive text messages on your Zoom Phone on an SCSU-issued work computer, you must be logged into your Zoom desktop application. We recommend staying signed into your Zoom desktop application. 

  1. Ensure you are signed into your Zoom desktop application
  2. When you receive a new text message, you will receive a desktop notification and the Zoom desktop icon on the taskbar will light up and show a number indicating how many notifications have not yet been addressed within your Zoom phone service. To view or respond, open your Zoom desktop application
  3. Your Zoom desktop application should open to the "Phone" tab automatically. If not, select "Phone" from the ribbon at the top of the desktop application screen. On the left-hand side of the desktop application screen, select the "SMS" subtab. You will see notifications for missed SMS text messages in multiple places within the application, including the Phone tab, the SMS tab and the individual SMS text message chain itself. Navigate to the text message chain and from there you will be able to view and reply to the text.
