Introduction

A quick note on Adobe Software Licensing

Currently, SCSU has two licensing models for using Adobe software for campus use – Shared Device Licensing and Named User Licensing.

  1. Shared Device Licensing uses a specialized version of the Adobe software that’s installed on campus owned computers that allows anyone with a free Adobe ID to use all of the Adobe software on campus-owned machines. Shared Device software can’t be used on personal devices such as student or faculty-owned laptops.
  2. Named User Licensing is a license that can be assigned to any student or faculty / staff member so they can use the full Adobe Software suite on their personal device without needing to buy an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. There are a limited number of these licenses available to students and faculty.

The College of Liberal Arts is planning on issuing a limited number of Named User Licenses to students that are enrolled in classes that teach the Adobe software so they may install and use the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite on their personal devices without needing to buy an Adobe Creative Cloud Subscription for Fall 2020.
