Questions
What are my Workday training assignments and do I need to complete them?
Answer
Training assignments were shared with Minnesota State employees in Spring Semester 2024 and are still available online. To find your training assignments, use the Individual Training Plan spreadsheet available on Friends of NextGen. On the spreadsheet, select the "Course Assignments" tab and then filter the spreadsheet to your name or StarID. Computer-based training assignments are still available in Minnesota Self Service (ELM), If you were assigned instructor-led training, you can find recordings of those sessions on the Workday Training Connect site. Direct links to the trainings are available on the Individual Training Plan spreadsheet.
Faculty:
- Most faculty were assigned six computer-based training courses through Minnesota Self Service (ELM) in Spring 2024. Minnesota State's Faculty Workday Training Guide provides more information about the training approach and those six specific training courses.
- Faculty who are in an "inactive" employee status over summer may not be able to access Minnesota Self Service (ELM) for training until fall semester when they are in an "active" employee status.
Completing assigned training is encouraged to help build a more foundational understanding of Workday, but is not required.
Training assignments were made based on security role designations at the time, and employees may find that they need additional training based upon modified security roles and/or gaps in training. Employees are encouraged to use additional training materials on Minnesota Self Service (ELM), the Workday Training Connect site and the SCSU Knowledge Base to support their individual training needs.
