Turn off Focused Inbox

Introduction

 

Note: Focused Inbox is not available in all versions of Outlook, so all e-mail (other than Junk) gets delivered to the Inbox.

Below are the instructions to turn off Focused Inbox:

If you are not sure what version of Outlook you are using, Click on the link Outlook versions on the web to check.

Instructions for Outlook on the web

  1. Log into O365 on the web
  2. Enter your Office 365 Login
  • Employees/Emeriti: StarID@minnstate.edu
  • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
  1. When prompted, enter your StarID password, then click 'Sign In'.
  2. Click on 'Outlook' > 'Settings' (Gear icon ⚙- upper right of the browser window)
  3. Move the focused inbox toggle to OFF

Instructions for classic (old) Outlook on the web

  1. Log into O365 on the web
  2. Enter your Office 365 Login
  • Employees/Emeriti: StarID@minnstate.edu
  • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
  1. When prompted, enter your StarID password, then click 'Sign In'.
  2. Click on 'Outlook' > 'Settings' (Gear icon ⚙- upper right of the browser window) > 'Mail' under 'Your app settings.

(You Should get a list of 'Options' on the left side of  the page after you click on 'mail')

  1. Click the 'Focused Inbox' under 'Layout'.
  2. Select 'Don't sort messages' and  Click the 'Save' button.
