Changing Zoom Phone Ringtone Settings

Introduction

You can customize your ringtone settings for Zoom phone services, including ringtones and volume through the Zoom desktop application.

*Please note that St. Cloud State University is currently in the process of transitioning all employees from the current phone system to the Zoom phone service between December 2022 and June 2023. This article applies only to those who have been moved to the Zoom phone service. Learn more about this project on the Zoom webpage.

How do I change my Zoom phone's ringtone settings? 

Answer

You can change your ringtone settings for your Zoom Phone through the Zoom desktop application. For instructions on updating ringtone settings on mobile devices, see Guiding Tech's online article, "How to Change Zoom App Ringtone and Notification Sound"

Follow the steps below to update ringtone settings through the Zoom desktop application:

1. Open the Zoom desktop application and sign in, if needed 

2. Click on your profile on the upper right-hand side in the Zoom application (you should see your initials listed)

3. Select Settings, then select Audio, then scroll down to the Ringtones section. You will have options to adjust volumes for ringtones and call waiting, and adjust ringtones for meetings, your extension, your direct number and individual contacts. You can preview ringtones by selecting the playbutton after the title of the ringtone.
