Introduction
Syncing OneDrive to your Microsoft 365 account offers many benefits, including:
- Access from anywhere: You can access your files from any device, including your computer, tablet, or phone.
- Offline access: You can access your files even when you're offline.
- Automatic syncing: Changes you make to your files are automatically synced to the cloud when you're online.
- Collaboration: You can share files with others and permit them to edit them simultaneously.
- Access to shared content: You can access all your shared content across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
- File monitoring: You can monitor your files and sync actions

Check if OneDrive is Installed
- On your device, open your applications folder to check if the OneDrive app is installed
- If it’s not installed, you can download it from:
- Windows: Open the Software Center
- Mac: Open Self Service
Install and Set Up OneDrive
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You will always use your Work or School account to log in:
- Employee/Emeritus: Use your StarID in this format
StarID@minnstate.edu
and your StarID password.
- Student: Use your StarID in this format
StarID@go.minnstate.edu
and your StarID password.
Access Your OneDrive Files
- After syncing is complete, your OneDrive files will be available in File Explorer on Windows or Finder on a Mac.
