Questions
Why did my training cover things that don't apply to my current role?
There were only a few people from SCSU in my training, are we the ones now responsible to perform all of these duties?
Is the Workday Finance and HCM go live in July 2024 changing my job responsibilities?
Answer
Trainings are assigned based on your security role. For example, all managers have a specific set of trainings assigned to them. There may be things that you learn in these trainings that do not specifically relate to the way you do things now, but relate to the capabilities of the security role that you are assigned in Workday. These trainings are still required for everyone in that security role. If you have trainings assigned, take the trainings, even if you feel that you might not need the specific training. You will then know how to use the additional capabilities in Workday that your role or roles allow for you to do.
There are multiple training sessions for everyone on campus. You may not see everyone at SCSU who is getting a specific training in your specific class session. That doesn't mean that only the people in your specific class are the only ones at SCSU who are getting that training.
SCSU does not intend to change an individual's job responsibilities based upon the transition from ISRS to Workday HCM and Finance in July 2024. However, the transition will change how certain processes are done to fulfill existing job responsibilities.
